NOTENESTPRIVACY
NoteNest lets you create site-aware sticky notes, per-website or global. Everything is stored in your browser — the extension sends nothing to our servers.
// 01WHAT IT DOES
Notes can be typed in the extension, or saved from selected text on a page via the "Save selection as note" context menu. All data stays in your browser.
// 02WHAT WE COLLECT
No personal data — no name, email or account. No analytics, tracking or third-party APIs. The only website content handled is:
- /Note text you type.
- /Text you explicitly choose to save with "Save selection as note".
We do not automatically read or collect any other page content.
// 03WHAT IS STORED, AND WHERE
- /NOTES — Note text, colour, the domain they are tied to (e.g. "github.com") and timestamps. Held in Chrome’s sync storage so they follow you across Chrome browsers signed into the same Google account. Syncing is done by Chrome/Google — we never receive or store it.
- /DISPLAY PREFERENCES — Font size, font style and popup height. Stored locally on the device you are using.
// 04THE CURRENT TAB’S URL
The extension reads the URL of the tab you are viewing only when you open the popup or use "Save selection as note", and uses only the hostname to attach notes to the right site. We do not log or store a history of the sites you visit.
// 05SHARING & USE
We do not sell or share your data. We do not use it for anything beyond providing and syncing your notes — never for advertising, creditworthiness or lending.
// 06WHEN DATA LEAVES YOUR DEVICE
Note content leaves your device in exactly two cases: when Chrome sync carries it to Google’s sync service under Chrome’s own policies, or when you press Export and save a file to your own computer.
// 07CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
// 08CHANGES
We may update this policy from time to time. Continuing to use the extension after a change means you accept the updated policy.
