FOCUSBELLPRIVACY
FocusBell is a Pomodoro-style focus timer. It runs work and break sessions, shows a badge and optional desktop notifications, and keeps history, daily counts and streaks — all locally.
// 01WHAT WE COLLECT
No personal data — no name, email or account. No analytics, tracking or third-party APIs. The extension never connects to the internet to send or receive your information.
// 02WHAT IS STORED LOCALLY
Everything lives in Chrome’s local storage on this device. Nothing is synced to the cloud or sent to us.
- /TIMER STATE — Whether the timer is running, the current mode (work / short break / long break) and the remaining time.
- /YOUR SETTINGS — Focus duration, short break, long break, daily goal, auto-start and sound on/off.
- /OPTIONAL TASK NAME — Up to 50 characters, so the label can appear in the session and in notifications. Optional, and used only locally.
- /SESSION HISTORY — For the last 50 completed focus sessions: optional task name, completion time and duration. This powers the in-extension history and the "sessions today" chart.
- /COUNTS & STREAKS — Total sessions, sessions today and your current streak, so the extension can show progress against your daily goal.
// 03NOTIFICATIONS
The extension can show a desktop notification when a focus session or break ends, and it may include your optional task name. Notifications are created locally and are never used to track you or send data elsewhere.
// 04ALARMS
Chrome’s alarms API keeps the timer counting down while the popup is closed. Alarms run only on your device and send no data.
// 05SHARING & USE
We do not sell or share your data. We do not use it for anything beyond running the timer and showing your history and stats — never for advertising, creditworthiness or lending.
// 06WHEN DATA LEAVES YOUR DEVICE
It does not. There are no servers; everything stays in Chrome’s local storage on this computer.
// 07CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
// 08CHANGES
We may update this policy from time to time. Continuing to use the extension after a change means you accept the updated policy.
