// 01WHAT WE PROCESS

Stored in the extension, on your device only:

• /SETTINGS & PREFERENCES — Tone, length, language and emoji options, stored via Chrome’s storage API.
• /COMMENT HISTORY — Your last 20 generated comments, so you can copy them again. Never uploaded.
• /ANONYMOUS CLIENT ID — A random identifier used for rate-limiting.
• /PRO LICENSE KEY — Only if you activate AI Extensions Pro. Remove it any time in Settings.

Sent to our backend, only when you ask for a suggestion:

• /POST SNIPPET & AUTHOR NAME — The content already visible to you on the post.
• /PLATFORM & PREFERENCES — Which site you are on (LinkedIn, X or Instagram) and your tone, length and language settings.
• /ANONYMOUS CLIENT ID — Used for usage accounting.
• /PRO LICENSE KEY — If you activated Pro — checked to lift the free daily limit.
• /NEVER SENT — No posting history, credentials or private messages.

Only if you choose to send feedback: your rating, your comment, and an email address if you enter one so we can reply.

Derived operationally on the backend: your IP address for fair rate-limiting, per-IP and per-client usage counters that reset daily, and minimal logs for debugging and security.

// 02HOW WE USE IT

• /To generate comment suggestions via OpenAI.
• /To check whether a Pro license key is active, so the daily limit can be lifted.
• /To enforce fair use through rate-limiting (Upstash Redis).
• /To keep the service running and secure — error monitoring and abuse detection.

// 03LEGAL BASES (EEA / UK)

• /LEGITIMATE INTEREST — Providing the functionality you request and preventing abuse.
• /PERFORMANCE OF CONTRACT — Generating AI suggestions when you click the button.

// 04SHARING & THIRD PARTIES

We do not sell or rent your data. We use these providers only:

• /OPENAI — Generates text based on the post content you send.
• /VERCEL — Hosts our backend infrastructure.
• /UPSTASH REDIS — Powers rate-limiting and usage tracking.
• /CLOUDFLARE — Hosts the license service that checks Pro keys (shared by our AI extensions).
• /DODO PAYMENTS — Our payment provider and merchant of record for Pro. Receives the license key when it is checked; handles all card details.
• /RESEND — Delivers feedback you choose to send to our inbox.

// 05RETENTION

Usage counters are temporary and reset daily. Post snippets and logs are kept only as long as needed to generate a response or debug an issue — no long-term profile is built.

To request deletion of any stored data, email info@growyourwebs.com.

// 06SECURITY

• /The OpenAI API key is stored on the server, never in the extension.
• /All communication is encrypted over HTTPS.
• /We follow the principle of least privilege — only necessary data is collected and stored.

// 07COOKIES & TRACKING

• /No tracking cookies in the extension.
• /Local settings use Chrome’s storage; no third-party trackers are involved.
• /Our backend sets no tracking cookies.

// 08CHILDREN

This extension is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

// 09YOUR CHOICES

• /Uninstall the extension at any time.
• /Clear local settings and cached drafts from the built-in options page.
• /Contact info@growyourwebs.com for data removal or privacy questions.

// 10INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Processing may occur wherever Vercel, OpenAI, Upstash, Cloudflare, Dodo Payments or Resend operate. We put safeguards in place where applicable data protection laws require them.

// 11CHANGES

We may update this policy occasionally. Check the effective date at the top of this page to review changes.
